Pediatric dentists have additional education and experience with the development of a child’s teeth, jaw and smile as well as child psychology and behavior management. With the transition of baby teeth to adult teeth and rapid growth of the jawbone as well as changes in facial development, a lot is going on in a child’s mouth. Plus, pediatric dental teams love working with kids and are experts at helping them develop a lifelong love (instead of anxiety) of going to the dentist. To schedule an appointment, call or text 801.254.9700.

A dental exam is a comprehensive, twice-yearly visit. At your child’s first appointment, we’ll likely take a short series of x-rays. Then, it will be time to have their teeth polished and flossed by a fun, friendly team member who is well-trained in caring for children of all ages. After your child’s dentist reviews their x-rays and performs a thorough exam, they’ll discuss any areas of concern and will provide your child with some pointers on taking care of their teeth and gums. In no time at all, your child will be headed to the prize machine with a cleaner, healthier smile.

Our orthodontic consultations are both comprehensive and free. We’ll begin with a physical exam and x-ray to get an accurate picture of your child’s needs- now and in the future. Your orthodontic team will take the time to explain every applicable treatment option. If your child could benefit from treatment, we’ll also answer all your questions about insurance coverage, payment options, promotions, pricing and the length of the treatment. At Families First, we abide by the AAO recommendation to assess children’s orthodontic needs by the age of 7. This allows us to determine if early intervention is appropriate or if they should be placed on a recall schedule to initiate customized treatment when they are developmentally ready. To schedule a free consultation today, call or text 801.254.9700.
