Frequently Asked Questions

We accept most dental insurance plans; a prompt-pay discount for self-pay families is also available. Our billing department looks forward to answering your insurance and pricing questions 801.254.5299. To schedule an appointment, call or text 801.254.9700.

Yes, our dentists are accepting new patients! To select a provider before making your first appointment, visit our Providers page and filter for dentists. You can also filter the oral health providers by location or search them by name. If you need any assistance, we’re happy to help you find a great pediatric dentist for your child. Or, if your child is ready for braces, we also offer orthodontics at many nearby boffices. Text or call 801.254.9700.

Pediatric dentists have additional education and experience with the development of a child’s teeth, jaw and smile as well as child psychology and behavior management. With the transition of baby teeth to adult teeth and rapid growth of the jawbone as well as changes in facial development, a lot is going on in a child’s mouth. Plus, pediatric dental teams love working with kids and are experts at helping them develop a lifelong love (instead of anxiety) of going to the dentist. To schedule an appointment, call or text 801.254.9700.

A pediatric dental exam is a comprehensive (but fun!) twice-yearly visit. At your child’s first appointment, we’ll likely take a short series of x-rays. Then, it will be time to have their teeth polished and flossed by a warm and friendly team member who is well-trained in caring for children of all ages. After your child’s dentist reviews their x-rays and performs a thorough exam, they’ll discuss any areas of concern and will provide your child with some pointers on taking care of their teeth and gums. In no time at all, your child will be headed to the prize machine with a cleaner, healthier smile.

Our orthodontists at our nearby West Jordan, Bluffdale, and Riverton offices offer comprehensive, free consults. We’ll begin with a physical exam and x-ray to get an accurate picture of your child’s needs- now and in the future. Your orthodontic team will take the time to explain every applicable treatment option. If your child could benefit from treatment, we’ll also answer all your questions about insurance coverage, payment options, promotions, pricing and the length of the treatment. At Families First, we abide by the AAO recommendation to assess children’s orthodontic needs by the age of 7. This allows us to determine if early intervention is appropriate or if they should be placed on a recall schedule to initiate customized treatment when they are developmentally ready. To schedule a free consultation today, call or text 801.254.9700.
