We've been going to Families First for nearly 10 years. We've seen many providers and loved them all. I love that I can get in quickly when my kids are hurt or sick. No doubt they have the best pediatricians in the valley.
James grew up right here in Utah, hiking the many mountain trails, swimming at Lake Powell, and rooting for the Utah Jazz. He knew he wanted to be a dentist from a very young age, having more or less grown up in dental offices. Teeth are a family business, and James spent a lot of time around white coats and drills. His first job was making retainers in his grandpa’s orthodontic lab, and he’s stayed on that career path pretty much ever since, working as a dental assistant in various pediatric offices throughout high school and college.
While James always knew he wanted to be a dentist, he didn’t originally plan on working with kids. Then, while studying at BYU, he worked in a pediatric dental office and realized kids are funnier, have better stories, and are more exciting to work with than adults. Sorry parents, get better material!
His residency at Texas A&M was in one of the largest pediatric programs in the United States and provided an opportunity to see a wide range of patients and medical conditions from the incredibly common to the exceedingly rare.
James speaks fluent Spanish and when he’s not working, he enjoys traveling, eating at new restaurants, and binge watching TV or movies with his wife, just as long as they aren’t scary. James isn’t a fan of scary things, and that includes visits to his office.
