What to expect at your orthodontic consultation.

  1. Step 1: Imaging

    We start with detailed photos of your teeth and, if needed, a quick x-ray scan to see teeth still below the gums. It's painless and gives your orthodontist the full picture.

  2. Step 2: Meet your orthodontist

    Your orthodontist reviews the images with you on the big screen in our consultation room, explains what they see, and answers every question you bring.

  3. Step 3: Your treatment plan

    We walk through your recommended treatment, your options for braces or aligners, how long it may take, and the cost, including family discounts and payment plans.

  4. Step 4: Start the same day, or later

    In many cases you can begin treatment the same day as your consultation. If you'd like time to think it over, that's fine too. You'll leave with everything you need to decide.

Most consultations take 30 to 60 minutes. Parents and family members are welcome to join, and the photos, x-rays, and exam are always free.

Three things. First, we take detailed photos of your teeth and, if needed, a quick x-ray scan. Next, you meet your orthodontist, who reviews the images with you, examines your teeth, and talks through your options. Then we go over your treatment plan: what we recommend, how long it may take, and the cost, including financing.

Yes. The exam, photos, and x-rays are all free, with or without dental insurance, and whether or not you decide to start treatment. There's no obligation and no catch.

Most consultations take 30 to 60 minutes, depending on your needs and how many questions you have.

In most cases, yes. A quick x-ray or two shows teeth still below the gums and how the jaw lines up, which helps us build an accurate plan. X-rays are painless and included in the free visit.

The American Association of Orthodontists recommends a check by age 7, even if nothing looks wrong. Some kids benefit from early two-phase treatment, and others simply come back for checkups until they're ready. It's never too late, either: we see teens and adults, too.

In many cases, yes. If you're ready, we offer same-day starts. If you'd rather take some time, that's okay. You'll leave with everything you need to decide, and you can start whenever you're ready.

It depends on the treatment you need, so we'll go over exact pricing at your consultation. Many dental plans include a lifetime orthodontic benefit that covers part of the cost, and we'll help you see how yours applies.
