Lori Jo is a transplant to our great state, having grown up further along the west coast, in Oregon. She came to Utah to attend Brigham Young University, where she earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Recreation Therapy. After graduating, she interned in the Utah State Hospital Children’s Unit, where she realized her passion for working with kids.
Lori Jo went on to earn a Master’s Degree in Social Work from Boise State University, in 2001, and is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with more than 15 years of clinical experience, working with kids and families. Lori Jo has a special interest in helping kids work through depression, anxiety, and other mood disorders. She also has experience helping parents and kids work through adoption-related issues.
When she’s not at work, she’s probably spending time with her husband and three kids. At any given moment, it’s a good bet she’s cheering one of them from the sidelines of a football or soccer field, hiking one of Utah’s many trails, or heading into the wilderness to camp, ski, snowshoe, or paddle board.

The check in staff is as so kind, accommodating and quick. We did not wait long. The nurse was conscious of our baby and cleaned the scale prior to having us put him on then took us right back into the room for the rest of the vitals to limit his exposure to sick kiddos. The NP was so sweet, caring and thorough in her exam. Went above and beyond. She even stayed in the room and helped my older kids find all of the hidden fairytales painted on the room walls.
