Riverton, South Jordan, and West Jordan Family Nurse Practitioner

Gavin Behunin, NP

Gavin Behunin, Pediatrics

About Gavin:

Gavin was born and raised here in Utah and loves the state’s natural environments, watching the seasons change, and visiting the canyons to hike in the summer or snowboard in the winter. His passion for caring for the pediatric population started when he was a patient at Primary Children’s Hospital as a youth after a four-wheeler accident.

He attended the University of Utah, receiving two undergraduate degrees, one in Health Promotion and Education and the other in Nursing. He spent his nursing career at the Riverton Emergency Department, where he enjoyed caring for the pediatric population. He returned to school for his Master of Science in Nursing from Brigham Young University. He is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner and a member of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners and the National Association of Pediatric Nurse Practitioners.

Gavin is the father of two kiddos who keep him running all the time. He loves spending time with his wife and kids, whether it’s playing sports, hiking and camping, or playing a good competitive board game.

Gavin is passionate about your family’s health and enjoys taking an active role in educating his patients and their families on how to improve their health.

Parent Feedback

I wish everyone could have a doctor like my kids have at families first. We have been coming here for around 10 years, and they are amazing. They genuinely care about my kids. Their primary doctors are Sheri Bangerter and Brady Watkins, so those two are my favorites, but we’ve seen many others for sick or urgent visits and they’ve all been great. The front desk staff and all the nurses are amazing, too. They respond quickly to texts and there’s an after hours nurse that you can call for urgent but non emergency issues. They’ve all been so helpful and caring. The doctors have been very thorough with their care, listen to our concerns and give us options to choose from. I’ve never felt so respected and well cared for in any medical environment. The rooms are amazing, too, with murals on every patient room wall. My kids love coming here.
