Tyler Young, LCMHC

Tyler Young, Counseling

About Tyler:

Tyler was born and raised here in Utah and earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Southern Utah University. After graduating, he was accepted to Gonzaga University in Spokane, Washington, where he earned a Master’s Degree in Clinical Counseling.

Before coming to Families First Pediatrics, Tyler spent 14 years working with kids in residential care. He specializes in working with kids with autism and teens struggling with substance abuse, trauma, strained family relationships, anxiety, depression, self-harm, and suicidal ideation. More importantly than all of that, he genuinely cares about your kids and about your family. He believes that success for the individual often relies on and extends to the family, and working together is the best way to make significant progress.

Tyler is a behavior specialist with training and certifications in Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), Dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and trauma-focused Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT). When not at work, Tyler loves spending time with his wife and four children, golfing, reading and playing video games.

Parent Feedback

I’ve been bringing my son to Family First Pediatrics for over 7 years, and I couldn’t be happier with the care we’ve received. The entire team is professional, kind, and truly dedicated to the well-being of their patients. Dr. Thomas is absolutely wonderful—always patient, thorough, and great at making both kids and parents feel at ease. I always feel confident that my son is in good hands here. Highly recommend this clinic to any family looking for reliable, compassionate pediatric care!
