Dr. Laura Holden and staff were amazing. Saw our sick child same day without being an established patient and helped get us care. Our child is scared of the doctors office and the Dr and staff provided exceptional care and accommodation.

Kim grew up in Burbank, California and came to Utah for her undergraduate studies. She attended Brigham Young University, where she earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing as well as a Master’s Degree in Health Care Systems Administration. After graduating, Kim went to work at Primary Children’s Hospital, but decided to continue her education when she learned that kids were waiting six months or longer to see a psychiatric practitioner.
Kim earned a Doctorate of Nursing Practice in Psychiatric/ Mental Health from the University of Utah, where she was awarded the Outstanding DNP Student award. Her doctoral project involved implementing a trauma screener right here at Families First Pediatrics.
Kim completed a medical internship at The Children’s Center and Primary Children’s Child Day Treatment program. Kim has seven children of her own. Her experience as a medical provider and as a parent has led her to a strength-based approach, collaborating with families to develop the best course of treatment for their child. When she’s not at work, Kim enjoys running, date nights to the Hale Centre Theatre, being a volunteer sign language interpreter, and skiing with her family.
