About Candace:

Candace Basile is a licensed clinical social worker in the state of Utah with experience in residential and outpatient therapy. This includes working with children and adults in individual, couple, family, and group therapy. Candace earned a Master of Social Work (MSW) from the University of Southern California majoring in mental health with a minor in military lifestyle. This minor allowed her to focus on treatment options for trauma and how it impacts family and children. Her education and career choice were inspired by her own experience as a veteran of the US Air Force and as a military spouse. In her clinical experience, she has had the pleasure of assisting clients presenting with complex disorders including, but not limited to, trauma, substance abuse, anxiety, depression, attachment disorders, complicated grief, OCD, bi-polar, personality disorders, neurological development deficits/delays, parenting skills, body image, and balancing the complexities of life. Candace is experienced and comfortable working with individuals of different religious, ethnic, and cultural backgrounds, and individuals of the LGBTQIA community and alternative lifestyles. She prides herself on her integrity and confidentiality to provide space for each client to feel safe as they are supported to grow. Candace has completed training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Neurosequential Model Therapy (NMT), Equine Assisted Growth and Learning Association (EAGALA), Advanced Dialectal Behavioral Therapy (A-DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Sand Tray-Play Therapy, Motivational Interviewing (MI), and additional training around treatment for eating disorders, and neurological development risks. She also holds certifications as an ADHD-Clinical Services Provider, Certified Clinical Anxiety Treatment Professional for Children and Adolescents, and Certified Clinical Trauma Professional, level II.

Candace was born and raised in Southern California in a very blended family of six children. She met her husband while serving in the Air Force stationed in southern Georgia. Once discharged, Candace was able to be a stay at home mom to their five children, that are now between elementary and high school. After the military moving them around the US and UK, they have settled into Utah for the past five years and have loved creating a home here. Their family strives, and sometimes misses, to have a ”work hard, play hard” lifestyle. They love their two dogs and enjoy skiing, road trips, swimming, and movie nights.
