Home - Group Therapy Classes - Confidence Club
This engaging, skills-based group helps kids ages 9–11 build confidence, strengthen friendships, and learn healthy ways to manage big emotions.
Topics include navigating peer relationships, improving communication skills, handling stress and frustration, and developing positive coping strategies. Through interactive activities, guided practice, and age-appropriate lessons, participants will gain practical social and emotional tools they can use at home, at school, and in everyday life.
By the end of the group, youth will leave with increased self-confidence, stronger emotional awareness, and concrete strategies for regulating emotions and connecting with others.

I love that they offer mental health classes. It can take months to get off a waiting list at most clinics, so this option was a perfect way to get my daughter help quickly with a specific challenge.

Shaunell Bennett, MSW Intern, and Courtney Smith, PMHNP Student, lead this class.
A fun, supportive group where kids can learn, share, and grow alongside peers their age.
A safe and respectful space where everyone agrees to keep personal stories private so the group feels comfortable and trusting.
Hands-on activities and guided practice to help kids build confidence, manage big feelings, and strengthen communication and friendship skills.
Consistent weekly sessions designed to build skills over time. While occasional absences are okay, the group experience works best when kids attend regularly.
Confidence Club is capped at 15 participants.
Yes, weekly attendance is needed to harness all of the benefits of the group, including relationship building, learning new skills, and talking about how practicing the new skills is going.
If your child is ten years old or older, you’re welcome to drop them off and come back in 45 minutes to pick them up. If they are under ten years old, we ask you to stay in the waiting room or in your car in the parking lot. Sometimes, despite age, the therapist will ask a parent to remain in the waiting room.
That’s very common at this age. Group leaders are experienced in helping kids feel comfortable at their own pace. Children are never forced to share and are supported in participating in ways that feel safe and manageable for them.
