Tyler Miller, MD

Tyler Miller, MD

Tyler grew up in West Virginia and spent time throughout Appalachia in Virginia and Pittsburgh before making his way to Utah. Drawn by the mountains and the residency program at Primary Children’s Hospital, he quickly fell in love with the people, skiing, mountain biking, and hiking.

Before becoming a pediatrician, Tyler researched lizards and snakes, which was the perfect preparation for pediatrics since both involve fast, squirmy little creatures, that sometimes stick out their tongues. He can’t whistle to save his life, but he’s determined to one day learn another language and pick up a musical instrument.

Tyler finds his greatest joy in getting to know families and helping them through both the joyful and challenging moments. He appreciates kids’ honesty, strength, and fun-loving spirits. He’s passionate about preventative medicine, evidence-based care, and population health, and he brings his background in research into every patient interaction.

Tyler’s interest in pediatrics was deeply shaped by a personal experience as a teenager, when his sister passed away from an undiagnosed heart condition. The way the doctor explained her condition in detail with empathy and kindness inspired him to dedicate his career to caring for children with the same compassion.

Nicki coaching a new mom

Nicki Cluff, RN, BSN, IBCLC

Nicki grew up right here in Draper, Utah and has worked in the medical field for more than two decades. She received an Associates of Science in Nursing Degree from the College of Eastern Utah in 1997 and went back for a Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 2017. She has worked with Families First Pediatrics for more than twenty years, in various roles both in front of and behind the desk. That led to her current role as Families First Pediatrics’ Director of Nursing.

When Nicki isn’t working, she’s spending time with her husband, John, and their five adult children and three grandbabies. Nicki loves traveling to Hawaii, Mexico, or anywhere she can sit on the beach and watch the waves crash.

She also believes in the power of good food and connection with family. That’s why, in 2019, Nicki became an Internationally Board-Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC), so that she could help parents find success in feeding and bonding with their babies.
